Hello I copied a profile into a new part sketch, I was wondering what is the best way to dimension the sketch to be able to extrude it. Adding all the dimensions back it would take for ever.
I didn't try opening your model, but if it will NEVER change dimensions you could simply Fix all of the entities (assuming you have SW set to only work with fully defined sketches), or change the settings to allow using under-defined sketches.
thx that will work, also if I wanted to use some reference geometry from a previous sketch that I defined as for construction , how can I access that information?
If the sketch is in the same part, then you can RMB on the sketch and select show. Now use the sketch as required. Make sure Sketch is set to show under View menu also.
Exactly, like Deepak Gupta said, you can actually re-use the same construction, that way if you ever need to make changes to your construction, you only have to change one sketch, not two, and it will update it all.
Thx guys, only prob I have now is that some of the converted geometry has open splines, any easy way to heal a non connected spline. It wont let me drag it to connect.
You could delete the fix constraint, if that's what you used, drag to connect, then add the fix back.
OR may add another spline to close
