I have an application where I have to compress a tube with a fixed displacement and see the resultant forces. The tube will be made of silicone rubber (it is a custom material). The tubes dimension are 1/16" OD, 1/32" ID and is about .500" long. I am trying to simulate how the tube will deflect if I treat the top surface of the tube as fixed along the length, the left and right sides of the tube to be displaced along the length of the tube by .001" toward the center of the tube and the bottom of the tube to be displaced by .010" toward the center of the tube. I want the tube to behave as if it were being pressed by a plate and not just a feature on the tube. Is there a way to do this in Solidworks?
