I need to export a solidworks animation for blender to be able to read. When i save it as an stl file, it only saves the mesh without material properties and without the animation. Is there a way for me to do this?
Ahh ok. I don't know for sure because I have never used blender but I highly doubt it is possible. Soliworks animations, material properties, etc are all things that are specific to a solidworks part file.
As far as i know stl files are specifically for communicating model geometry to 3d printers....why exactly do you need to have the animation and the material properties in the stl?
whats the best way to export solidworks animation, materials and model meshes to blender. I need it to be in blender for a project im doing.
ok thanks for the help
you want to export the model or the actual animation?
did you see any of the other threads where this has come up? SolidWorks Transfer to Blender
this would be best put in the motion category as well. anna might have a comment. I thought that 2014 had some new features for exporting to blender or similar program for additional photo rendering.
