best practices for drawings of bend profiles

Question asked by Travis Richards on Aug 8, 2014

We're still pretty new to SolidWorks and we're trying to improve our drawings for all of our parts. For parts that we bend in the press brake, we want to have a sheet in each drawing that shows the length and width bend profile to make it easy for our operators to program it in. Right now, I get a view of the part, create a section view, show only cut faces, and then I dimension the section view.

The end result is fine, but getting there is a little cumbersome. I figure there has to be a better way.

Does anyone out there make drawing views like this for their press brake operators and have a good method set up?

Thanks in advance for your help!
