Changing materials is not affecting thermal transient behaviour

I'm running a transient thermal simulation on an assembly and have noticed that changing the materials used for crucial parts does not seem to affect the time taken to cool. Could this be related to the assembly not being fully defined? If not, are there any other suggestions as to why this is the case?
