Can anyone create a poll on the forum, or do you have to be a SolidWorks administrator?
Currently only admins can create polls. We are looking at turning on this feature for everyone.
Also, why can't I comment on a poll after I answered a poll? Seems like you should be able to comment on a poll after you answer it. There is no option to comment.
Also, If the answer to "Can anyone create a poll?" is no, that doesn't seem like a good idea. Polls can be helpful to everyone.
I clicked on polls that I authored and this arrow if pointing to nothing.
Greg Jankowski turned off the ability to comment on polls because the commenting functionality on polls, especially navigation when there are many comments, is very limited.
only the Author of the poll should have the authority to close or turn off the Comments - is that so?
Is this thing on? lol.
Oh ok Richard, I appreciate the reply. Sounds good. Thanks.
Sure I can create a pole, how long and what diameter???? Lol I couldn't resist!
LOL. Love it.
I was going to say if your Polish and fertile, sure.
Obviously most agreed that anyone should have the right to initiate a poll. however, I would also suggest:
- polls to have an automatic deadline for closing specified by its Author: from 1 month to 1 year but no longer;
- to have an option for internal poll, only available for voting by the Members of the Group, or an open poll.- open polls should be encouraged except they make sense only for the Group.
- only the Author should have the authorization to close the comments and turn them off from the very beginning
Which of the above options are available and which are not? - I am asking because I cannot create a poll to verify.
The last but not the least, polls should be easier access able. I spend 20 min to find out how to get there. Polls link should be added in the main pull down menu Spaces/Groups.
I am also confused by the Forum left-hand menu - the choices in that menu do not apply to the selected Space as one expected.
5 years later and no one else can create polls?
Too bad for all
