I seem to have a problem where every time I open an assembly or part file that references or is built off of a certain kind of part (its casting or forging model), it also opens it's corresponding casting or forging part(s) automatically. This is really annoying when I open a large assembly and have 10 or so files that I didn't want to have open, opened. I went to External References in "Options" and unchecked "Open referenced documents with read-only access", but this didn't seem to make any difference. I've also made sure when opening a file referencing several other files that only the assembly model I want has a check mark in the "Check out" or "Get" dialog option boxes, but this hasn't seemed to help either. Could there be some setting in the SolidWorks files made by the casting and forging departments of the company I work for that causes this to happen? If so, which settings would these be? I don't know where to start looking to figure out why this keeps happening.
