Hello, I have the parts and assembly files of a mechanical left hand. Is there a function that allows me to get the opposite image (i.e. right hand) automatically?
Use the Mirror component option in the assembly. And while you do that make sure to check the various options Or pick create opposite hand version.
Thanks Deepak. There are many options in PropertyManager. Should I select all the options? I don't know which combinations would produce the exact mirrored image. How accurate is this mirror function in producing the exact mirrored image?
The various orientation options (1-4) which use the same component and place in 4 different possible orientation. So may choose either of the 4.
And if you pick "create opposite hand version", then an exact opposite hand part will be made. This would create a new file.
Now if you think that simply by rotating/moving at different orientation can create a mirror part, then choose 1-4 else go for "create opposite hand version"
Thanks. So, the simplest and most accurate way is to just choose "create opposite hand version"? Before, I checked all options and it seemed to create a mirrored version... Hard to tell if this approach is as good as "create opposite hand version".
Sorry, where is the "create opposite hand version" option? Under Insert Part, I only have the following options under Transfer:
Solid bodies, Surface bodies, Axes, Planes, Cosmetic threads (dimmed), Absorbed sketches, Unabsorbed sketches, Custom properties, Coordinate systems, Model dimensions (dimmed) and Hole wizard data (dimmed). Under Insert Part, there is also Link which an option "Break link to original part"

This option is available when you are using Mirror component option in assembly.
In part you can use mirror feature and make sure to select bodies to mirror.
As Deepak just wrote... if you are more visual:
Thanks for adding the pic, was about to post that
