When I apply gravity to a simple static study with a structure that is anchored to concrete (a virtual wall), the exaggerated displacement animation shows the structure pressing through the virtual wall. Is this normal and behaving as expected? Along with this, should you always apply gravity to the static study? Weight of the structure placed on the top surface or virtual wall isn't already accounted for is it? Thanks.
"the exaggerated displacement" > what does it show when you're at 1:1
if you have an inch between your part and the ground to start
it displaces 0.5 inch, it shouldn't touch
if exaggeration is set to 10
it would show 4 inches past the wall
remember that virtual wall is only between it and the faces that are touching it
and do you always apply gravity? if that is the load i'm looking to understand, definitely
other situations where there are other external loads? not necessarily, especially if they are much larger
but in the real world, gravity is always there
