The Weldment Cut List comes with several values pre-loaded. How do you add to / modify that pre-loaded list? Thanks
Give this one a try. Open SolidWorks, run this macro via Tools > Macro > Run. You would be prompted to select the folder where weldment profile are stored. Then macro would open each file from the folder and will add the Weight property.
Please run on sample files first.
You need to update/modify the weldment profile parts to see the updates here. I mean the .SLDFLP files which are used for creating the weldment parts.
You can also add/remove/modify a property from cut list also but that won't effect the weldment profile part i.e. the .SLDFLP file.
You will have to be more specific. Where is that file and how do I modify it?
The .sldlfp file Deepak referred to is the profile sketch used by the Structural Shape function that created the weldment body in your part. It's at the location specified at Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations > Weldment Profiles. Custom Properties added to the .sldlfp file will carry over to the part as cut list properties. That's probably where the Description property in your screenshot came from.
The other option is to add cut list properties manually.
Yes I have been making custom profiles quite often but didn't know you could add properties to the file. The specific property was "WEIGHT" Notice it was imported. I had been adding this to each weldment individually and it was getting a bit OLD! Too bad I'll have to add it to each profile.
As my mother used to say when my sister and I complained, "Life is tough and then you die." I always thought she was smart but I found out later that was a quote from an old movie. LOL

There is macro that can add the required properties to weldment profiles. The properties would have to be same though.
cool! The property that I want to add is Weight so all would be the same.
Work has been busy.
Finally took time to run the macro. Super Duper! Was fun watching the files whoosh by.
I suppose I can now use that as a template to add other properties.
Haa Haa just looked at the macro. Maybe I'll leave it to the experts.
Yes it should be easy now for you
