Is there a way to do this?

I have a fabrication(.sldasm) that has many “standard welded parts” that I would like on the top level parts list that we issue to the shop floor.

Even though these standard parts are of a fabrication, our production manager wants only the “standard welded parts” to appear on the top level parts list.

Top level Bom’s seem to be the most easy to manage and the promote feature is great for sub-assemblies, but we could do with an extra option to control the individual part “promote”  “show”  “hide” status within an assembly.

Guess I have to create another convoluted work around to keep the parts list parametrically linked to my model just to keep my manager happy. Unless there’s a new way of achieving this that I’m un aware of?
