sheet metal bend lid

Attached I have both the part and the assembly of a lid that i am having issues with...

to make the sheet metal part i am using the sheet metal comands and everything seems to work in solidworks works and lines up when i flat pattern the part it flattens out no problem as you can see... the issue i am coming across is when our shop people go to shape the parts with the cut out flat patterns i provide it does not line up.... i also notice in solidworks the flat pattern parts have a straight cut edge witch does not seem correct to me.... please help me im not sure if im doing somthing wrong. if the solidworks flat pattern is off or if the shop is slightly off on the bend its hard to tell....

Dustin turn on normal cut in your extrude cuts your flat should match watch
your looking for in the flat pattern then.

  so I just did that and i didnt really notice any change in the flat patter other than the mitter is now gone. the issue i see is that the flat patternis showing the edges that should allign to be perfectly stright edges were as i belive they should be curved becuase once the part is shapped to meet the profile in order or the top view looking down to be a stright 45 degree seem

    The difference is with normal cut off SW thinks you made the side cuts after bending and thats
    why you see miter cuts. When normal cut is on it thinks you cut a piece of material to correct
    size then bent it.

      thank you that makes sence but for some reason i did that changed it to normal cut i even started a totaly new part and re did it with normal cut but im geting the same exact profile for a flat pattern

        hei'ya, I just changed the settings
        in the two cut extrudes
        
        toggle them on/off and check the outer profile and corners

        This shows the normal cut. this makes sence that there is no mitter becuase it is making the cut in respect to it being flat patterned and normal or (parallel to the surface)
        This shows the normal cut not on with the mitter.
        
        but my question is this is the flat pattern it generates i do see a slight change since there is no mitter but the edge that a meassure being the edges that will be joined together to form a lid are the same and didnt change at all they are straght and have not curve to them what so ever and this is the problem we are running into

        its all good i belive you guys are on the same page with eachother and i totaly understand what you are talking about but but i think the flat pattern edge shouldnt not be stright

        This is what I believe your looking for Dustin, uncheck everything except merge faces in
        your flatten pattern parameters.
