We're looking to Build some new Engineering PC's, with a budget ofaround US$3000 each.

We use Solidworks 2006 to design transformers etc.,with approx. 100 parts.

This is what I have in mind, hopefully this will give us somemore speed and last us for another 3 years or so. Is there anythingI should change?

New Systems:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.67Ghz)

Leadtek QuadroFX 3500

Asus P5N32-E SLI Mobo

2x 1Gb Corsair XMS2 8500C5

2x WD 36Gb Raptor 10Krpm ( 1 for OS, 1 for Swapfile)

Antec 500w PSU.

Current Systems:

AMD Athlon FX51 (2.2Ghz)

Asus SK8N Mobo

4x 512Mb Corsair  DDR400 LL

1x WD 36Gb Raptor 10Krpm

What is the difference between the QuadroFX 3500 and the FX3450? They are the same price yet FX 3450 looks slower but supports3D stereo effects?

Would it be worth spending more to get the FX 4400SLI and maybespending less on the RAM?
