I am having a problem going from a Multibody part to individual editable parts.

I started with a multibody part file and clicked save bodies under solid bodies. The parts open up just fine, and the assembly does too, but I am having trouble editing the parts.

All the parts have only one feature in the feature tree called Stock (I assume it is the original part that was inserted into the multibody part) which I can't edit without having to edit it in context.

Does anyone know how I can convert this part to something where I can use feature recognizer, or at least edit the piece without being in context?

Also, I tried breaking all external references but when I try to edit it, a window pops up to help reassociate the body with the part.
