Hi, I have a problem regarding the winding of two sheets, one regular sheet and other crimped sheet. I want to wind both the sheet around a bar. The width of the bar and sheet is same. Can anyone help me out.
For the regular sheet you can use a spiral and extrude that. For the crimped one, it would need some experiment to create one/two curves and then using curve driven pattern to pattern those along a spiral curve.
Do you have solidworks 2014? I could give you an example of one method to produce the crimped sheet.
Just in case you do I have attached an example.
Hi, thanks for your reply, i dont have solidworks14. Can you please send me the earlier version file
Did you checked the link by Jeremy
Here's a "spiral" version. Using an actual spiral messes up the crimp pattern, so instead I did a bunch of semi-circles.
For this one I basically did the same method as Jeremy did in the post he linked to. The only difference is that instead of using a spiral or a spline as a guide for the twisty surface I used a series of tangent semi-circles.
something like this?
