    Status Code:8 FILE_ERROR

    Amit Gupta

      Hi All,

I'm running a simulation where I keep getting an error that says "Status Code:8 File_Error".  The model and results are on a local drive where I have admin priviledges.  The disk has >100gb free.  I've tried deleting the study and creating it with a new name, multiple computer restarts, I've ran scan disk on my HDD - I'm out of ideas.  I've successfully run the same exact study with a draft quality mesh (keeping all mesh controls, loads, fixtures and connections the same) and the simulation runs fine.  I've also run the same exact study with a coarse high quality mesh and it ran fine - unfortunately the coarse mesh is too coarse to be useful.  However, when I try to run the simulation on a high quality fine mesh, I get that error.  Any suggestions as to what I can try?  The model is quite large with ~4.2 million nodes and ~2.9 million elements.  I realize that this is VERY large but we've run larger simulations in the past and haven't had issues.  Please let me know if there are any questions or suggestions.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

      Thanks!

      -Amit

          version and service pack?

what solver are you trying to use?

are you using the right idealizations? shells, beams..etc. sounds like you have a big problem but has it been setup efficiently?

when exactly do you get the error message. does it start to solve and then fails at some point?
