I have been crerating the model shown in figure 1 and have had some trouble with the curve driven pattern function. All of the pictures have a section view so it can be clearly seen. Firstly I have made the extrusion (picture 2) where the shape was rotated 5 degrees away from the perpendicular line to the curve. I also made the upper left hand point on the shape and the curve a coincidence. After using the function, the repetitions slowly creep above the curve line (pic 3). I have changed the allignment method to 'tangent to curve' as well. How can this be resolved. Any help would be great! Cheers
The problem is related to the alignment. When you choose tangent to curve it is rotating each instance a little bit, which is what you want, but it doesn't rotate it around the point you want (where your profile intersects the curve). Instead I think it might be rotating around the center of the patterned feature. As far as I know there is no way to control the center of rotation, but that might be a good subject for an enhancement request.
For this specific application since the curve is an arc you might be better off doing a circular pattern and fiddling with the angle until the end is where you want it.
