Hi guys,
I am simulating a bearing with and axle through it. My axle has a loose fit h6 .022 in smaller than the bearing opening. During the 3D after setting the dimension of the axle I add the tolerance. I made two models, they are both static studies with different temperature loads between the bearing and axle, both are made of steel.
MODEL 1 - bearing opening diameter 90 with an axle diameter 90
MODEL 2 - bearing diameter 90. Axle diameter 90 h6= 90 -.022"
When I run the analysis both models have the exact same deformation and stress. The reason I added tolerances is to reduce stresses. What can I do to lower the stress on my part and make it more realistic? Thank you for your input.

Armando A
How much different are your thermal loads? I assume the axle is hotter than the bearing? by how much?
