Hi. I'm looking for a macro to convert a folder containing SLDDRW drawings to DWG format. Can anyone help please?
Craig, sheet 2 is not blank but I think this is something to do with the DWG/DXF template file. if you open up the DWG file and then do a zoom to fit, then you can see the sheet and it's data.
Can you please check that if this is the case on your machine too.
Pick one of these:
Hi Deepak. I've had a look at TS and it will export a folder of SLDDRW and convert to DWG. Unfortunately if there is more than one sheet this doesn't work properly. I've tried the two links. One is for dxf files and the other is a link to an external site for pay to use software. Do you have another link for a simple macro that will convert a folder of drawings to dwg. I need each drawing file to contain all of the sheets for that drawing. Thanks. Craig
Do you need to create each sheet as separate DWG or all in one DWG.
Anyway check this one: https://forum.solidworks.com/message/413605#413605
P.S. The links I had given earlier were for sheet metal parts mainly, sorry for that.
Hi Deepak. No probs. For each individual Solidworks drawing I need an individual DWG file with all of it's sheets contained within that one file. Thanks. Craig
Hi Deepak. The post (17-Jun-2014 04:34) gives a link the same as the first post (17-Jun-2014 03:18). Sorry, can you post again with the updated link. Thanks. Craig
PS. What's your timezone? I have GMT +1 here in the UK.
Mine is GMT + 5:30 here in India
Here is the link: https://forum.solidworks.com/message/413605#413605
I've also attached the macro in case the link doesn't work.
Thanks Deepak. I've ran the macro and the sheets are not copying across correctly. My test Solidworks drawing has four sheets and when it copies across to the dwg format sheet 2 is blank. Sheet 1 is present and correct but the sheet name is Model. The rest of the sheets are named 2 to 4. Sheets 3 and 4 are displaying correctly. I'd be grateful if you could have a look. Thanks. Craig
Sheet 1 is present and correct but the sheet name is Model.
You can't change this as this how DWG template are set. I'm not sure if there is a way to change the Model space name in DWG files.
I'll test the macro for other issues.
That's great thanks. The sheet names don't really matter as long as all the sheets are present. The main issue is that sheet 2 was missing. Thanks.
That's great Deepak. Yes, if I zoom out the drawing is present on sheet 2. Thanks again for all your help. Craig
