Convert an equation-driven Body in a fixed body (a part from the toolbox)

Hi,

to save a lot of time, I decided to use the toolbox to generate gears (spur and bevel gears); then I need to modify them (cut holes, add a clamp embedded in the gear's bore, etc.).

When I try to add features to the gear, an error message appears, and something in the tree becames red. It's correlated with equation fails.

Is it possible to convert an equation-driven part, to a common one? I'm talking about removing the equations and variables, and put fixed values in quotation and features, but not manually.

Please tell me, otherwise I will choose to manually draw each gear instead of using the toolbox.

Correct Answer

For a normal part you can right-click on the Equations folder at the top of the tree, choose "Manage Equations", then delete the equations from the equations dialog box. I assume this will work similarly with Toolbox parts, but I'm not sure.

If someone could advise me on how to edit the title of this topic, so in the future when someone search for this issue will find this solution more quickly?

Yes you can do that. Click on "Edit Discussion" on the right side under Action and then edit the title as required

Instead of deleting the equations you can suppress them so that if you need them in near future you can retrieve them. You should also convert the tool box part to a normal SW part by adding a file property named "istoolboxpart" and setting its value to NO. This would avoid issues with SW toolbox.
