Some guidance setting up SW13 SP4.0 Workgroup PDM would be greatly appreciated as I haven't been able to resolve this through forums and SW help documents. Hopefully I am just missing something obvious since this is in the basic setup, not trying to configure anything unusual. Signs point to some kind of license issue.
I have Explorer and Vaultadmin installed on a computer without SW itself installed- this computer will host the vault. I can open vaultadmin through Win7 Start menu and can set up users etc. So at this point I would think I can login to the vault on another computer with SW installed. However when attempting to connect to the vault computer (through either SW or Explorer) I get the error "Could not connect to the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM vault. Please check that the vault computer name is correct and that the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM is running on that computer."
In Explorer on the vault computer, Options-> Add-Ins, I cannot enable SolidWorks Worksgroup PDM. Instead, error "Failed validating license to SolidWorks Workgroup PDM. Please see your system administrator for a license." The license I used during install was generated automatically from the SW Pro serial number. Also, when I run 'pdmwvault.exe' to start the server service, selecting admin gives the error "Unable to find Admin Client installation!"
?? I haven't been able to find any information regarding this, so any advice or help troubleshooting would be very helpful. Thanks! ~Magnus
