I am trying to create a linear pattern of an "extruded thin feature". Very simple .... or so I thought after spending a couple of hours trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. The linear pattern shows in the model tree but the pattern does not show in my part. Even weirder: Solidworks does not display any errors. Please help!
Welcome to the forum. I can't say for sure without seeing your model, but I suspect that the problem may have been that you had chosen Features to Pattern instead of Bodies to Pattern.
Interesting. I am using Solidworks Premium 2013 and it does not show the "Bodies to Pattern" option. Thank you for attaching the pic shown above.
It is always there but you need to click on it in case you want to select the bodies
also, you cannot change to or from a body pattern by editing the pattern, you would have to make a new pattern and get rid of the old one.
If you've already created the feature, then Bodies to Pattern will not be available when editing it. If you delete it and start a new one it should be there.

Next time anyone is having issues with "feature linear pattern", try using "bodies linear pattern".
ok. I misteriously solved this issue. I guess Solidworks did not like how the "extrude thin feature" was intersecting the rest of my part. I slightly changed the position of the "extrude thin feature" with respect to the rest of my part. I also extended the amount by which the "thin feature" merged into the rest of my part, whereas, before, the thin feature ended in a "coincident" manner without fully intruded into my part.
