I just came across the following on the SolidWorks customer portal.Does anyone know how restrictive this will be? We use simpleregistration code-based licenses now, and I would hope not to befaced with headaches when it's time to use a laptop or conferenceroom PC for a presentation.

Thanks,
Wallace

Beginning with SolidWorks 2007 SP3, all customers in North Americaand Japan with standalone-licenses will begin usingactivation-based product licensing. Customers in certain portionsof Europe, Asia-Pacific, Japan, Latin America and North America arealready using activation-based licensing. From Service Pack 3 -applying SPs or new installations will require the user to activatetheir license on that computer before use. The activation processis much faster than the previous registration process, nowrequiring only three simple steps. After activation, the licensecan later be transferred to a different computer.

Question: What if I have more than one computer? Does the licenseallow me to use the software on multiple machines?Answer: Thecurrent SolidWorks End-User License Agreement allows the primaryuser, the one who uses that computer more than 80% of the time itis in use, to also use the Software on a portable or home computerwhile the original copy is NOT in use. This right is not affectedby product activation and you will be able to install and activateyour software on one work computer and one home computer.
