We have added a new custom property called CrossRef.
But it doesnt show up in Property name when trying to add a new column to my BOM.
Thx for any help.
Welcome to the forum
I think the property "CrossRef" is in the drawing and BOM is populated from the part.
You may have to add this property to the part file.
You are correct that property exist only in the Drawing file.
I wonder why I can manually link it to the property CrossRef as shown below. It must also be looking at the drawing properties in this case.
You can add a property from the drawing, just highlight only that cell and link to property. (select "component to which the annotation is attached")
But if you have multiple sheets or multi part drawing in the same file, it shows only one cross reference number.
It's always better to have the properties populated either from part or assembly than drawing
Strange. I have no idea what I did but now the property CrossRef is showing as an option.
It may have been that you added the CrossRef property to one of the parts listed in the BOM, so then it listed it as an option for the BOM column. If originally you only had that property on the drawing file and not any of the parts then there would be nothing to populate the BOM colum with because none of the parts had that property, so it wouldn't have been listed.
Yep. It's in the part file on some. I think our admin added that Property directly to the Data Cards in ePDM to many Released parts and those are the ones not showing up. Any part I have added that property too is working.
Thanks for the help Guy's.
