This may not be a PDMW problem. Are you working across the network? Is "D" a mapped drive? PDMW wants to save the file before checking it in. What version are you on? Have you ever rebulit your vault? need a bit more info.
David, not all VARs are created equal. Our VAR is top notch!
hi john,
the drive is a local drive, not mapped.
Workgroup PDM 2014 SP3.0
Worgroup PDM Server 2014 SP2.0. AHA! this is probably the issue. i will update the vaul and see if that fixes the prob.
will advise.
That's weird, usually you upgrade your clients from the server, so having the client be newer is odd, unless you did an install and upgrade seperately. Admin images are nice, because you can control the versions much easier, even if you only have a few installs it's useful.
well that was it. problem solved. thanks!
btw, is creating and admin image easy? seems like the way to go
glad it's solved. Generally it's okay to have the PDMW Admin at a newer SP than the client, but I always keep them the same.
Admin images aren't too bad, but it takes a little bit of understanding and setup to make them really work well. If you are the only guy, I'd would not bother. Of course if you plan to expand, it's great knowledge to have!
I have encountered similar issues with WPDM check-ins. It is best to contact your VAR and get them involved.
