hello
i curently have solidworks standard and i am geting into large system motion animation with conveyors and packaging equipment..
what is the next level up for motion.. is it a plug in or an entire program i need to buy??
also what is the major diffrenances between animation and the next level up.. the one thing i relized is i cant curently to path mate motors.

If you are doing animations, going to soldiworks prem won't give you anything further by adding motion.
Motion simulation is for engineering analysis of systems. Velocities, forces...etc. And if you are running into challenges with large assemblies, you will have to be more diligent with assembly management to make motion work for you.
If you only want it for path mate, check recent discussions. It is possible without motion.
I should also mention there is a third level which is event based motion in simulation professional. This is a great tool for if then else type motion simulation. But again, overkill for animation.
Depending on what is your need; Animation or Motion Simulation also, you need to buy Professional OR Premium version of SW.
It used to be earlier that one can buy them as add-on but now they come as full package. Buying the next level of SW will also give you additional stuff which you may find useful.
