I have some line symbols for our communications pages that have parts sticking out the bottom. The problem is that the cable needs to connect to the parts sticking out the bottom of the symbol and the only way I have found to do this is to put an outline in that outlines the entire symbol including the  parts sticking out. Is there some way to format the outline to differentiate from the outside of the part? Please see attached drawing, the top is what I currently have and the bottom is how I would like it to work.
