Animation using mates in subassemblies

Hello, everybody,


I have an assembly of robotic arms with two subassemblies inside. Each subassembly has moving parts inside which are animated using angle mates.

The problem is that I can't animate the whole assembly using mates that are inside subassemblies - Solidworks either gives error while saving or animation disappears when you rebuild subassembly (because you change the mate value, internal subassembly data changes accordingly and it ruins the initial key point).


I have ran accross the same question but it had no solution despite long discussion.


I wonder is there any means of doing it besides dissolving subassemblies into assembly?
