Hello,
Can anybody help me to merge the mirrored bodies. I have tried merge feature within mirror function and combine feature but I'm unsuccessful in both cases. The errors I get are:
1) Failed to merge the newly generated body with the work piece (in mirror feature)
2) Unable to create this feature because it would result in zero-thickness geometry (in combine feature after mirroring without ticking merge solids)
I have attached the file here so if you could help I would really appreciate!
the surfaces in the center just don't quite line up. if you are on 2013, the intersect feature will work to join the bodies. other wise you will probably have to delete the faces in the middle and knit the two surface bodies back together.

Yes, the problem got solved after using the intersect feature as I realised the problem you mentioned.
I think the problem has to do with the little notch in one corner.
The notch got there becasue the thicken feature was weird in that corner. Instead of thickening and then extruding to fill it in solid, I would try to create two flat surfaces to enclose it and do a knit to turn it into a solid.

I confirmed it is that notch that is causing the problem, but you don't have to undo the thicken like I suggested. You can create a new sketch on the flat side, convert the edges of the notch, and extrude up to the back surface of the notch. This will get rid of it and then you can merge in the mirror. It worked for me using your model so if you can't get it to work I can try to be more clear.

I use 2013 so don't think I will be to open the future version file but I have solved the problem. Thank you!
Yes, somehow the thickened cornor warped. I will try the method you mentioned, hopefully will give me a better solution. Thank you very much for helping.

I have had this problem from time to time in SW over the last 12 years. It is a parasolid bug/limitation. The way I get around it usually is to create a simple planar surface on the mirror plane and then do a replace face of the solid (mirror) face with the planar face. Then try your Combine. I find this solves 95% of these problems. If that does not work then I delete face the mirror face/s, extend the surface edges, trim back to the mirror plane, mirror and knit solid.
