Hello just starting to use Solidworks. My customer sent me a 3d model of a part. What i need to do is take away a seciton of it and export that profile into a dxf file. Not sure how to do it. I have it sectioned how i want it but can't export the view. Using 2014 Thank you.
Click Save As, then click on the box next to "Save as type:" - It's a menu!
How do i put the cut veiw into a drawing ?
You have to create the section in the drawing

Two ways to create a section view.
In a drawing on your main view
1. Sketch a line through it, select the line then select section view.
2. As Ian has said to do this automatically just select the section view option and you will have various choices for the cutting line depending on how you want to see the section view.
