I have a model and I am trying to change some of the surfaces to a white for appearance. But the white does not seem to be a bright white. When I make my 2D drawing I want those faces to appear white in the 2D drawing. How do I make this happen?
I can get it to look bright white by switching the scene to Plain White, adding Sunlight in the lights section, and turning on Real View Graphics.
I don't know if any of this helps in the 2D though.
Click on the appearances tab on the right and find a white that you like (Plastic - High Gloss - White High Gloss Plastics works well). Click and drag it onto the face you to change and release the button. There will be a popup with four options. Click the green square to apply the appearance to just that face.
Face option shown below in red box.
Chris did a good job of showing you how to choose the white appearance. The other thing that can affect how the surface looks is the lighting and potentially the background. Try changing the scene to something else if choosing the white appearance does not give you the look you are after. Also, a satin white appearance will not reflect the environment like a glossy white will. This may make the surface appear more like what you are going for.
I have attached the file. I would like white letter faces on a black background.
I would try to do it but I am still on SW12.
Can you do an Area Hatch/Fill and make them White and Black?
If you are just trying to achieve white on black in the drawing, I would do it with a solid Area Fill instead of trying to color the part. If bring the part into the drawing and convert all of the entities into lines on the drawing, you should be able to do a quick solid black fill.
Instead of selecting each face or edge individually to convert entities, the fastest way would be to select each sketch and convert them, however this won't work for the sketches that contain text. You'd have to convert the text to sketch entities first and then you'll be able to convert it in the drawing all at once.
