Under system options I can access all of the options pages without a problem except for "Messages/Errors/Warnings". When I click on that Solidworks freezes up and I have to force close it. Annoying because I wanted to change something there.
I'm running SW2014 x64 SP3.0
Is this happening to anyone else?
I had this happen when I first switched from 2013 to 2014. It ended up being a problem with copying my 2013 settings over. I had to reset my registry settings (the Reset button in the options menu may work as well), and then manually adjust my settings.
Didn't need to go into the registry, just using the "reset all" button fixed the freezing problem. A little annoying because I lost all of my settings, but what can you do. Thanks Patrick.
Make sure and save a Copy Settings Wizard file after you've gotten everything set up correctly just incase you need to restore them at some point.
1. go to Tools > Save/Restore Settings... and save your settings to your chosen location.
2. open your settings file (a registry file actually) with notepad and search for this line:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2014\General\DontAskAgainOptions]
and delete everything under this registry...and save the file.
3. go to Solidworks Options and click Reset button.
4. go to Tools > Save/Restore Settings...again and click Restore Settings button. Choose settings file that you saved just now.
5.problem solved!
