I have a sheet metal tube that has already been done in SolidWorks. I now need to add a dimple ring near the end to help retain the hose that will be attached.
Has anyone done something like this that could supply a sample file? I have tried several method but cannot get it to work when I flatten it out. Material is .050" thick and the depth of the dimple would be .050"-.075".

Have you tried creating a forming tool.
Another option is to manually create the dimple (revolve a separate body, cut away a portion of your tube and merge them together), and then create a separate configuration that suppresses the dimple features to allow the flat pattern to work.
Simplest way is probably to recreate the tube complete with dimple using the sheet metal's Swept Flange tool.
Any way to merge the Swept Flange into the existing sheet metal object so I only get one flat pattern? The other end of the tube has a complex shape that was done in context with other parts and attached to other assemblies.
