Is there a better way to model this besides a Lofted Bend?

I modeled this part using a sheetmetal loft. I was unable to do a standard sheetmetal extrude since it gave me a message stating "The sketch contains an entity with unsuitable geometry."

The part flattens just fine, but our weld shop is having trouble fitting part. One of the SW users in the shop added 1/4" material to the flat pattern, and they said the part fits fine now.

I know that K factor and bend radius play a part in the end result of the flat pattern, but these match up to the other parts we manufacture out of 16GA 316SS.
