I have an aluminum handle with a bend and twist that I would like to flatten to get the cut profile. I have not been able to convert this to sheet metal and would appreciate any suggestions on if this can be done.
I believe you may be able to use split lines projected onto a plane to accomplish this. Then add it to your drawing. I just watched a video on this this morning. I will try and find it for you and post in here.
Try this out and see if it works for you. Good luck
I appreciate the suggestion but it appears the projected sketch is different from the flat pattern. It does not account for the curvature.
not gonna happen with vanilla solidworks.
try blankworks add-in.
Thanks. I kind of suspected that was the case.
Can you model it straight and then use sketch bend to get the required twist/bend.
