I am trying to get the network render client working at my company and I haven't gotten anything out of our VAR's tech support other than copy and pasted text form the help file.
I have the client installed on both the host and slave machines. When I open the client window, I can see the other clients listed. If I set a machine to client mode it turns green on the other machine and the status changes to idle. This seemed like a good start, but when I enable network rendering in PV360 and start a render, it will still only use the cores available on the local machine and status in the client window remains as idle.
While trying to trouble shoot this, I noticed that although each client shows up in the render client window and has the proper computer name, it does not list its proper IP address. Instead of the local IP they all show the same IP which looks like an external IP, but not ours (see image). I don't know where it is pulling this info.
This seems to me as a likely cause of my issues, but since the network client has virtually no options or settings, I cannot figure out how to fix it. Is there a config file somewhere I should be looking at? Or does anyone have any ideas of what else I should be looking at? It seems as though all the clients are seeing each other, just not doing anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If it helps, we are currently running 2013 SP4.0
