I am a student, and i have a question regarding thermal analysis. My question is as follows.:
i am having a pipe of approximately 3m in length. Inside this pipe i have inserted a filter disc of SS316 material at the centre of pipe. now there is the hot gas of exhaust flowing from the the pipe. this gas is impacted on the filter disc with a velocity of approx. 3 m/s. and the temprature of the gas is approx. 700 deg celcius. The filter disc is having very small size hole of approximately 0.65mm.
I want to see the temperature distribution, and want to calculate the depth of the filter disc so that the filter disc wont melt/fail. Please suggest the simulation process, (flow simulation/simulation) to use and the steps for it.
