Does anybody know how to make multiple belts that are made with the belt/chain feature to show up as one item on the BOM? Sometimes I use the same length belt in different places and I would like them to show up as one item on the BOM. I also had this issue when creating an opposite hand assembly using the mirror feature - even though the "create opposite hand version" option is turned off for the belt model, it still creates a copy. I assume this is because the belt is actually a feature of the assembly which has this option turned on. The belt/chain feature is a great tool and I've been using it like it's going out of style, but now I have a bunch of belts with quantity one on my BOM's and they're actually the same part.
Thanks,
Theo
Theo,
I don't use the Belt/Chain feature, but is it possible to do each belt as a different configuration in the same part file? (I'm not sure if the tool will even allow you to do this)
If so, then you could use the part configuration grouping options when inserting your BOM.
Again, not sure if this is possible with the tool, but may provide you with a suitable workaround.
