I'm trying to do a 360° pattern of an edge flange, around a platform - but with no succes. I've attched a screen dump of. maybe someone here knows if there's a solotion for it?
Don't pattern the flange, just add the extra edges to the original flange feature.
What if I need to pattern the flange? I'm getting an error. It seems it's not copying bend radius, only the edge flange as a rectangle sheet.
Ian is correct. Another consideration is to use the Miter Flange tool. Once a profile is sketched you can easily add it all around the base. You only have to edit the sketch profile to change all of the flanges.
I need to do what you can see in the attached jpg. I have 2 Edge flanges and need to pattern it to the other three corners.
If I do it by edge flanges adding extra edges I may sketch all flanges. Too much extra work.
I got it by using circular pattern. Now, I'm getting troubles again. I made a mirror from the original edge flange and its pattern. No problem. The issue comes when trying to make a mirror to both of them.
I get this error:
'Can't create the pattern'
Looking at this picture I believe your issue might come from the fact that you have some internal spotweld flanges. The part is not truly a circular pattern. You might have more luck doing all the bends with a Sketched Bend then your cut extrudes and finally your corner radius. Then cut extrude and add the internal spotweld flanges.
Thank you for your reply.
I tried to mirror over a 45º plane. I also got it. Repeated the mirror and got up and down left corners. Trying to mirror left corners to right is when I'm getting error. It shouldn't have any trouble...
Can you attach the part? It is very hard to diagnose the problem with only pictures.
Here it is.
It seems that you can't mirror/pattern an existing mirror/pattern. One workaround if you don't want to remodel the whole part is to keep the mirror across Vista lateral to get the flanges in one adjacent corner. Then mirror only the original flanges across Plano3 to get the flanges in the other adjacent corner. Then do a 180 degree circular pattern of the original flanges around Eje2 to get the flanges in the opposite corner.
It looks like you have 2 edge flanges there, one going down and one going inward. When you are patterning select both of them, not just the second one, then it will work.
I wonder if you can model only one quart of your part and then mirror it as required. I'm on SW 2014 so my part is usseles for you. Maybe some screen shots will show my approach.
Thank you Krzysztof
That's the way the technical support recommended me.
I'm not used to work like this, It's a patch to get the part I need to draw, because of a program bug.
I'm still thinking the sheet metal enviroment on SW is not tested enough.
