What is the easiest way to get old revision out from the vault?
When you say "get it out" do you mean to delete it from the vault or just check out an old release to look at or reuse?
Check out to reuse. I need to what kind of assembly it was few revisions ago. But I don't want to rollback it. Sorry about that.
If you proceed the same as checking any file out from the vault you will be able to choose an earlier version from the drop-down box. I am pretty sure this should pull the associated revs of the parts with it, but I am not positive of that.
If you just want to look at it, just right-click the assy in the vault and select "document info". From there there will be a tab for "view" which will allow you to look at earlier revs without checking them out.
before selecting the revision you want, there are two options that will alter the children's revisions.
As Built or Latest Revisions
As Built = the revisions that the children were at when the parent was checked in. Depending on how you checkin your documents, this might not produce the results you were expecting. It will be helpful to have a BOM (hard copy) of the revision you want. You might have to hunt and peck to get the revisions of the children the way the BOM reads.
Latest Revisions = Latest Revisions (self-explanatory)
