Wayne,
If you are trying to avoid having to update your entire assembly in Composer you would have to convert each new Component to a smg file. For the new Components you would have to open them with the merge into current document box checked. You would then have to place the new Components in their proper location and set the neutral properties once in place. For the ones that just changed you would update the geometry of each Component.
If there are several new Components or updates I would personally just update my entire assembly but some people prefer to update with individual geometry only.
If by images you mean views after the updates you would select all of your new or updated parts (or your full assembly) and select all of your views and click the update views with selected actors button.
Cheers,
Derek
How do I update the entire assembly to match the current solidworks assembly from which the smg file was created from?
In Composer Go to File > Update> Solidworks Composer Document then simply choose the Solidworks assembly file and you are done.
I would recommend making a copy of your smg file before you update it. I have only had an issue once but it was enough for me to adopt this practice. I then delete the old smg once my file has updated with no issues.
