When i insert parts then use combine feature to essentially combine the parts and chop away parts i don't need does that now make a solid body i can now send to the cnc programmer for production? i need a step file for production

You can run the diagnostics tool to see where the "errors" are ocurring.
The phrase, "chop away parts" doesn't sound particularly good.
It could be that these errors are insignificant in terms of generating the CNC Code
or
it could be that they will drive the CNC programmer mad.
Is this all in-house work - or do you send the STEP to someone else?
You could let the diagnostics tool try to heal the part and if successful write it out again as STEP (and check the results again).
yeah it goes to someone else, am trying to make the cnc programer's life as easy as possible, The model original started in 3ds max and a polygonal model and then converted with power np nurbs and the step file exported and errors cleaned up upon import into solid works so now am here combining the parts for the final model.
Yes.
You can easily check this for yourself.
Save Copy As type STEP (*.stp) and reopen the STEP file to see what you get.
