Hello,
In a part sketch is there a more productive way to referance a dimension in an equation for another dimension and maintain parametric?
Say I have two dimensions D1 and D2. I want D2 to always be 1/2 of D1.
The way I curently do it is create a global variable of D1 then another global variable Called D3 with the value "D1" / 2. Then use Link Value on D2 to referance the global variable D3.
In autodesk you just enter the equation referancing the other dimension directly as the dimension value upon creation of the dimension like you would a cell in excel "=(D1) /2". It was fast, easy and took a lot less time away from design creation.
Is there a more efficient way of doing this in solidworks than the way I am going about it?
