Dear All,

I am trying to optimise the design of turbine blades to be used on a subsea tidal turbine. In order to do this I require to be able to simulate the torque generated by my rotor hub as a pre-selected velocity of water passes the structure (hence rotating the blades.)

However I have reached the limit of my knowledge in SolidWorks and cannot simulate this as yet.

Anyone know of any possible methods or tips?

I have attached a screenshot for reference.

Thank you in advance.

IIRC you will need to run the Flow Simulation with the rotating reference, then setup a steady state mechanical simulation where you import the Flow results. This will apply the resulting pressures to each surface so that it can determine the torque you are looking for as well as stresses in the blades.
