Have you assigned some file types e.g. .STP .X_B .PAR in your windows explorer to open with SolidWorks?
And do you double click such a file within the windows explorer?
And the file is successfully opened in SW?
If so, the swShellFileLauncher throws that error message, which can be ignored.
I'm facing an issue with SW2014, the swShellFileLauncher throws that error message, but the file isn't opened anymore in SW.
The solution is to write a script and assign that script with these file types, then the script launches or access SW and calls the LoadFile method to open the file. The benefit is that the error isn't shown anymore.
Here is the download link for the script
And here the REG file to assign the most common file types. Note: You have to customize the path in the REG file!
I get this daily as well. However, sometimes files open and sometimes they don't. I wish it would at least pop-up in the foreground vs. in the background. If I have several files open, I never realize it is there, so I just wait and wait and wait (large files so they take long anyways) and wait and wait... Then I kill SW, and what is on my screen?... That error! Not a huge deal, but it does slow me down (might not be a bad thing)
Any updates on this?
