had to go over every line and delete the duplicates
Excellent - how exactly did you accomplish this? What do I need to change in order to prevent this from happening in future drawings?
had to go over evey line and delete it till there was no more duplicate lines,
then went to modify entity polyline select a line it ask if you want to turn it in to one say yes then Join and select all lines
Thanks for the great help Brian!
the Bpoly command in Draftsight works pretty well in this case.
Read the draftsight help on the command, but in overview, it creates a polyline similar to the way you create a hatch.
In your case, I had to make sure the penme layer was frozen to prevent it from picking up the blue lines in the polyline.
The polyline is created on top of the existing entities, so you'll need to get rid of those before sending the file off for laser cutting.
That's pretty easy, though.
<select a rectangle containing your shape>
r <for remove from selection>
L <for last entity created>
Another method would be to correct this in the Solidworks sketch before exporting it out. The Repair Sketch tool will automatically fix overlapping sketch entities. It is found in Tools - Sketch tools. When it launches it automatically checks the sketch for overlapping entities and merges them into a single entity.
