I am using a Dell Altitude Laptop with Nvidia GT 720M graphic card and it is almost impossible to work with composwer although solidworks 2014 runs quite well.

The issue is that Intel has placed its HD Graphics chip on the machine alongside the NVIDIA graphics card. The result is that the OS sees two separate cards on the system. SW sees this and opts for the NVIDIA card. SW Composer is using the default or the HD Graphics card. This is why you are seeing two different ranges of performance in graphics.
You can set the NVIDIA card as the default through the OS or disable the HD Graphics chip through the BIOS. I have opted for going through the BIOS and have disabled the HD Graphics chip altogether. Thus the OS has only one choice for graphics cards. You'll want to look to Dell on adjusting the BIOS for the cards.
