Has anyone seen the problem with SolidWorks 2013 crashing when opening certain files? Some open fine, others crash SolidWorks every time?
If it's just certain files every time, then those certain files are corrupted somehow.
You will have to do some investigating do find the culprit model or sub-assembly if it's an assembly file that crashes.
Open and rebuild all models in the assembly. Start from the bottom and work up. It may solve itself.
Are any files older SW versions that haven't been saved as the latest yet?
Do you have this checkbox checked?
I forgot they added that. I believe it was a "buried" setting all along. They just exposed it recently.
I have a similar problem with SW 2014. For me, any file that I open will crash SW...IF it's the first file to be opened after starting SW.
The only workaround I have found is to launch SW, create a new part, then any file will open without crashing. Then I just close the new part and continue working.
Are your crashes only happening after a fresh launch of SW or do opening your files crash at any time?
