This really isn't a PDM issue, but it relates to the PDM...
I cannot, on a Windows 7 Pro machine with Admin rights, associate solidworks files with eDrawings. Everytime I select them (using the Set Default Programs utility in Windows 7) it does not give me the option tof eDrawings. So, I then browse to the eDrawings program folder and select the executable program file, but it still won't associate it. It will associate with other programs already but not eDrawings. I am trying to associate the SLDDRW file extension with eDrawings.
I have a similar problem trying to associate SLDPRT and SLDASM files with the Solidworks Viewer so I don't know if they are related in any way. AGain, the computer I"m working on has full admin rights, so it's not a Windows UAC issue. I've even run CCleaner to remove any unused file extensions and that doesn't help.
Any ideas on how to get around this? I've tried rebooting, and this is on a fresh install of EPDM and eDrawings on a machine.
I have found you need to set the file association on a drive or folder outside of the vault. I usually go to a network drive to do this but I am usually setting the associations back to Solidworks not away from.
