I'm in the process of learning to use Motion Studies to analyze forces and want to experiment with some slightly more complicated mechanisms. Using hand calculations to verify models quickly gets out of hand for any but the most basic models . Has anyone used "Universal Mechanism Lite" - a free analysis tool that can be found here:

as a tool to validate SolildWorks Motion Study results? If so, what were your experiences? I want to get to the point where I'm confident I'm building models that can be solved correctly by SolidWorks.
Thanks!

would not suggest comparing simulation to simulation
find some standard cases that you have physical or numerical solutions to, set them up in motion and go from there
we've done some validation on motion for both standard cases and customer cases and as long as you have the physics included, there is pretty good correlation. i've also compared against some other rigidbody kinematics programs and they have been pretty close.
